Let's discuss marketing strategies for Backdrop CMS! While a Backdrop upgrade from Drupal 7 represents a potentially dramatic cost savings for countless organizations, pitching the idea successfully can be tricky. Whether due to Drupal brand allegiance, opinions around supportability and longevity, popularity among developers, or a simple feature comparison with other options like Drupal 9 — some potential clients express concerns about Backdrop versus other platforms with greater market share.

2. How can be better support contrib developers?

This is an intermediate discussion for those who have some experience of managing Backdrop or Drupal with command line tools such as bee, brush and/or drush. It is NOT about command line tools for beginners.

There are three command line tools to support the installation and management of Backdrop websites:

• bee
• brush
• drush (backdrop extension)

Bee, formerly knows as Backdrop Console is inspired by drush and is under active development

Brush, is no longer being maintained in favour of bee

There  are over 900 contributed projects in the Backdrop CMS contrib space on Github, not all of which have official releases on BackdropCMS.org. 

Please, post a comment if you have a contrib project you would like to share. Either a project you maintain or just one that you love to use and want to share with others. 

Each person will have 5-10 minutes per project. 

This is very informal. You can demo a module on a live site, a demo site, or just describe the module. Anything goes. 

I used feeds to add my initial content in bulk. Now I need to add a lot MORE data content, and also update the existing data. I know when I migrate my other D7 sites, importing content is going to be important.

I have made mistakes with trial-and-error feeds. Losing data out of fields because a column was forgotten, and HTML changing.  I'm especially struggling to export all existing fields of a content type to work from, in terms of updating.

With the help and encouragement of community member, Sarvasri, I've been working on an online tutorial on how to build a Farmers Market Website with Backdrop CMS. In this presentation, we will walk through the process of building the following website:

Entity Reference module was merged into core just this week leading up to Backdrop LIVE! What's next for making references a fully integrated part of Backdrop core?

References are one of the key features of a structured content management system, and having Entity Reference in core will enable tighter integration with Views, Layouts, the Entity system, and other parts of Backdrop.
