I would love to see a job board - jobs.backdrop.org - where employers can post jobs/gigs related to Backdrop CMS. Site would be similar to https://jobs.drupal.org/
Posting should have a job description and a way to reach out to the employer. Service providers (https://backdropcms.org/support/services/contractors) can reach out to employers if they are interested in the job.
Postings can be free for employers or small fee can be charged and used to pay for backdrop website hosting. There should be no other monetary interactions around this website.
Great topic - shared hosting can be really difficult when the defaults are inappropriate. On my first Backdrop installation I had a problem with clean URLs - a revised htaccess file solved it. In addition, my shared hosting puts the php.ini in the wrong location, so my site was actually trying to run on PHP 5.4 and not 7.4!
This is probably a big enough topic on it's own, but perhaps mention Pantheon as well? It looks like a quick way to try Backdrop without getting into hosting environments, installation etc.?
If you are updating a live, existing site on shared hosting, the complexities of the Dev->Test->Live model seem excessive. But having used it, I can see it has a lot of benefits.
I would like to know how to migrate from Drupal 7 to Backdrop CMS. I just start using a system base one Drupal 7, knowing the process to migrate will be very useful.
All you need for this session is a desire to learn! Lurkers can just listen in and follow along. Participants need a computer with access to a terminal program.
We'll work together and share our experiences as we learn something new and exciting!
Do you need server access to create a static copy of a site with WGET or could someone create a Demo site on BackdropCMS.org and then create a static version of it with WGET?

This could also include the Color module and maybe the various font modules (google_fonts, fontyourface, and/or font_awesome).

I will also be showing how to create a subdomain to host a test site and then very very quickly make the site live.

I would like to demonstrate the CSS Editor module, which is a CSS injector, and has a preview. It is also installed per theme.
I can show off the configurable block style module.
I've gone ahead and added a "Join on Zoom" link on all the sessions, hopefully that will help others!
How do we actually attend the session? I didn't receive any links in an invitation? Should I be looking in my spam, or it is a specific link?
ok, I found it.
You can join all of the sessions in the following Zoom room:

If anyone is interested, here is a screencast I made about layouts in Backdrop CMS for beginners.

Never thought about Wordpress to Backdrop. I guess it wouldn't be much different than Wordpress to Drupal 7?
