Backdrop LIVE is based upon an unconference model. Anyone can declare a topic up through the day of the event and the schedule is subject to change at any time. What would you like to talk about?

Slot 7: 3:00 am UTC - April 4, 2025

Wikipedia says: "Vibe coding is an AI-dependent computer programming practice where a programmer describes a problem in a few sentences as a prompt to a large language model (LLM) tuned for coding. The LLM generates software, freeing the programmer from having to write and debug the underlying code. Vibe coding is claimed by its advocates to allow even amateur programmers to produce software without the extensive training and skills which coding previously needed."

Scary to some, exciting to others. At the moment, there is buzz around the idea of Vibe Coding, or using AI tools to create personalized software for individual needs. Let's talk about how individuals are using AI tools to create very custom games, applications, and software tools and how this might apply to Backdrop. When does it make sense and what to watch out for?

We'll look at how you can use AI tools to create fun projects like this bughunter game or how to create a custom module for Backdrop CMS.

Another Vibe Coding project I did in preparation for this session: Email Site Reminders module for Backdrop CMS.

Don't forget that AI can make tedious tasks like writing our schemas a lot quicker.
